Data Sources & Citation Policy
Effective October 4, 2026
WishSky reports and dashboards combine a few kinds of data. Every figure is labelled with its source so you know what you are looking at.
[WS] WishSky data
Wishes, backing and optional preferences (budget, platform, interest level) from WishSky users. It is a self-selected sample: it shows what WishSky users want, not what all players want. Groups of fewer than 20 people are hidden, and suspicious activity is discounted before it reaches any ranking.
[MKT] Store data
Public store information, such as release dates, prices and review counts from Steam, collected through official interfaces under each store's terms. It is used only as context — for example, how many similar games were released recently — and is never resold as raw data. Some genre labels are estimated and are marked as such.
[RES] Industry research
Published research is cited as paraphrased key points in our own words, with short direct quotes (under 25 words per source) and a link to the original. We do not copy paid reports or their charts. Research older than 18 months is marked as possibly out of date and is no longer used in AI-written summaries.
Community content
Content from other communities is analysed only in aggregate, and only where that platform allows it.
What we never do
- Mix store or research data into wish rankings or game scores
- Give success probabilities or revenue forecasts
- Present AI-written text without showing which figures it is based on
Every source we use is registered with its terms and a review date, and is switched off automatically if that review lapses.
